AirLife Gases, an India-based helium and specialty gases supplier, brings over 15 years of experience in delivering high-purity gases across global markets. With operations spanning critical sectors such as healthcare, semiconductors, and aerospace, the company has built its reputation around supply reliability and precision.
The acquisition provides AirLife with direct access to helium production assets in the provinces of Saskatchewan and Alberta, known for their stable, low-carbon helium reserves.
It also provides the company with exclusive rights to offtake helium and specialty gases produced by Royal Helium’s subsidiaries.
The news comes as the global helium market continues to face persistent supply tightness. With demand rising at 4-6% annually and supply disruptions continuing, industries such as healthcare, semiconductors, and aerospace are feeling the squeeze to secure supply reliability. Helium itself is a finite resource on Earth, primarily extracted from underground reservoirs formed over millions of years by natural radioactive processes, so the new supply is both limited and slow to develop.
Royal Helium’s operations are concentrated in Saskatchewan, one of North America’s most promising helium regions. The larger region contains some of the world’s largest contiguous land positions of helium, underlying millions of acres and with large exploration potential.

Access to these assets gives AirLife a geopolitically stable supply base and will support a more sustainable sourcing approach.
This is a move that takes AirLife beyond being a distributor to being upstream, allowing it to have more visibility and control over how helium is sourced and brought to market. The acquisition enables a more connected operating model across the helium value chain, linking exploration, production, processing, and distribution.
This integrated approach is expected to improve cross-operational coordination while improving supply consistency, quality, and long-term availability.
Upstream access is an increasingly important consideration for supply stability given the continued demand growth for helium and limited new sources.
This investment strengthens AirLife’s position in the global helium ecosystem and aligns its operations more closely with evolving market demands.
Commenting on the development, Kiran Karnawat, CEO & Managing Director of AirLife Gases, stated:“This transaction marks a significant milestone as we evolve into an integrated helium producer. We are expanding our footprint in Canada’s helium corridor while securing direct access to production.”
